STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's track and field team remained unbeated on their home track this season, winning the UConn Northeast Challenge on Saturday at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex.
The Huskies got seven wins over the weekend while piling up 182 total points on the way to the team win. UConn was ahead of Rhode Island in second with 134.5 points and UAlbany in third with 88 points.
"A fantastic weekend, tough to digest all of it until probably Monxday," said Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Greg Roy. "We just have to keep progressing. The overriding theme today, from all the visiting coaches as well, the competition was exactly what we needed. Didn't have to fly around the country to find it. Everyone was able to get on a bus and come to Storrs and find someone to go head-to-head with. It was just great. And it made us stronger."
The Huskies also honored their graduating seniors at the conclusion of the meet.
