Storrs, CT – Seniors Briana Marcelino and Reese Guevarra wrote their names into the record books.
Marcelino set the new program record for career RBIs. She had two runs batted in on Wednesday's game against Merrimack. This gave her 127 career RBIs surpassing the previous record set by Karin Muller with 126. Muller (1994-97) held this record for over 20 years. Marcelino has already broken the single season stolen bases record this year which was previously held by Jen Ward with 25. Ward held this record since 2012. Marcelino currently has 29 stolen bases in the 2022 season.
Guevarra surpassed the record for career walks. The previous record holder, Chris Woodman (1990-93) held the record for nearly thirty years with 79 career walks. Guevarra also holds the record for walks in a single season with 27 in the 2019 season.
Both Marcelino and Guevarra still have time to add onto their career totals as the Huskies have nine regular season games left in the season.
