UConn Falls to South Carolina in National Championship Game

MINNEAPOLIS - The fifth-ranked UConn women's basketball team (30-6) fell to No. 1 South Carolina, 64-49, in the 2022 NCAA Championship Game at Target Center Sunday evening.
Sophomore Paige Bueckers led UConn with 14 points in the game.
South Carolina outscored UConn 22-8 in the first quarter. UConn was able to pull within six, but wasn't able to close the gap any further.
UConn moved to 11-1 all-time in National Championship games.
The Huskies beat two No. 1 seed en route to their first championship game appearance since 2016.
UConn had a number of tribulatiions this season as eight players missed at least three games with an injury or illness.
