UConn falls in BIG EAST Championship game

Chicago, IL – UConn loses to Villanova in BIG EAST Championship game 3-0. The Huskies will wait and see if their name gets called on Selection Sunday today at 7:00pm.
Meghan O'Neil started in the circle for the Huskies going three innings and struck out three.
Villanova scored all three runs of their runs in the first inning on a bases clearing double to grab an early 3-0 lead.
Elise Sokolsky came in relief for O'Neil in the fourth inning. She pitched the rest of the game for the Huskies going four innings only surrendering one hit and struck out four. The staff on the day only gave up three hits, but the Huskies offense could not get any runs against the tournament's most outstanding play in Paige Rauch.
UConn will wait and see if their name gets called on Selection Sunday today.
