TORONTO – UConn women's basketball junior Aaliyah Edwards led the Canadian U23 Women's National Team to gold at the inaugural GLOBL JAM tournament Sunday.
Edwards was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player after averaging 15.4 points and 10.0 rebounds per game as Canada went 5-0 in the GLOBL JAM.
The Kingston, Ontario, native scored in double digits in each game and had three double-doubles in the tournament.
GLOBL JAM offered a unique development opportunity for targeted players within the Senior Women's National Team program as they also have their sights on the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2022 later this year and further ahead to the Paris 2024 and LA 2028 Olympic Games.
