Bedoya Preseason All-Conference, Huskies Voted Sixth

NEW YORK - The BIG EAST Conference released its women's soccer preseason poll and All-Conference team for on Thursday afternoon, the Huskies were picked sixth in the league and junior forward Jaydah Bedoya was selected to the preseason All-Conference team.
Bedoya was a First Team All-BIG EAST performer last season, scoring six goals and chipping in four assists on the season. Her six goals and 16 points led the team and earned United Soccer Coaches All-Region Third Team.
The Huskies have been selected sixth after landing in sixth place last season and earning a bid to the BIG EAST Championship.
UConn brings back 12 of its 13 student-athletes that contributed a point last season for the Huskies including the top five point producers on the team.
The Huskies also bring back both their goalkeepers that played last season, Kaitlyn Mahoney (17 starts) and MaryKate Ward (1 start).
UConn opens the regular season on the road at Army on Thursday, August 18 at 6 p.m.
