STORRS, Conn. – UConn Director of Athletics David Benedict announced 11 staff promotions within the Division of Athletics effective for the 2022 fall semester.
Michael Oblinger has been named the Deputy Director of Athletics/External Relations and begins his fifth season with the Huskies this fall. Oblinger is a member of Director of Athletics David Benedict's Executive Team and provides strategic leadership for revenue generating units while serving as Chief Revenue and Development Officer for the Division of Athletics. He serves as the primary sport administrator for men's basketball and baseball.
Dr. Jessica Chrabaszcz has been elevated to Executive Associate Athletic Director for Competitive Excellence. In her new role, she now has direct oversight of the athletics business office. Chrabaszcz is beginning her second year with UConn after joining the athletic department from Yale University last August. She is a member of the UConn Athletics Executive Team and has oversight for numerous internal areas, including facilities and operations, event management, capital projects, and equipment services. Additionally, she serves as the primary sport administrator for men's soccer, women's rowing and softball and the secondary administrator for field hockey. Chrabaszcz currently serves as a board member for the Collegiate Events & Facilities Management Association (CEFMA).
Dr. Deena Casiero has been promoted to Senior Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine/Head Team Physician. In her role, she oversees sports medicine, sports performance, and nutrition, and is a member of the UConn Athletics Leadership Team. Casiero has been with the University of Connecticut since 2015 and had previously served in the role of Director of Sports Medicine/Head Team Physician. She is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine and serves on the NCAA Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sport.
Tori Untiet has been named the Associate Athletic Director for Development/External Relations. Untiet oversees the annual fund and sport-specific giving, and is the sport-specific fundraiser for football, women's soccer, and softball. A former letterwinner in women's lacrosse, Untiet began at UConn in March 2020 and assists with the overall management of priority seating programs and revenue generation. She also serves as the secondary sport administrator for women's basketball.
Ted Woodward has been elevated to Associate Athletic Director/Senior Director of Development. Woodward enters his ninth year at UConn and his 36th year in Division I college athletics. Since his time returning to Storrs in 2014, Woodward has been heavily involved with significant fundraising for UConn Athletics. This has included multiple capital projects: the $45 million Werth Family Basketball Champions Center, the $80 million soccer-baseball-lacrosse-softball Rizza Performance Center and UConn's new ice hockey arena, the Toscano Family Ice Forum. Woodward is the sport-specific fundraiser for the men's basketball and men's soccer teams, in addition to serving on the Department's Diversity and Inclusion Committee. He also serves as the secondary sport administrator for women's soccer.
Dan Glinski has been promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Equipment Services. Glinski is entering his 16th season at UConn and oversees the five equipment rooms within the Division of Athletics. He works daily with the women's volleyball, women's swimming & diving, men's golf, and women's tennis programs. Glinski serves as the primary sport administrator for women's swimming & diving and the secondary sport administrator for men's soccer.
Moe Butler has been named the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Performance. Coach Butler was a former letterwinner on the field hockey team and joined the UConn staff in 2004. She is currently responsible for all aspects of training for the men's ice hockey and softball programs. Prior to her current team assignments, she worked with baseball, women's soccer, men's & women's track & field/cross country, women's ice hockey, and volleyball. In her time with her teams, she has been a part 18 conference championships and 11 ECAC/IC4A championships. In addition to team accomplishments, she has worked with 70 All-Americans and several MLB and NHL draft picks.
Bob Howard has been elevated to Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Training/Head Athletic Trainer. Howard is in his 34th year at UConn and oversees the athletic training department for all sports and this fall marks the start of his 33rd year working directly with the UConn football team.
Bill Peterson has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Communications. Peterson has over 20 years of experience working in collegiate athletics and sports information and begins his 10th year at UConn. He worked primarily with the UConn men's hockey program and served as the contact for the tennis team and the men's and women's track & field programs. In his new role, he will oversee the athletic communications department and work as the media relations contact for the football program.
Dominic Godi has been elevated to Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Initiatives. Godi has been in a full-time role with the athletics department since 2019 and was named Deputy Director of Athletics Administration in 2021. He oversees human resources for the athletic department, is the department liaison to the Office of the General Counsel and supports Director of Athletics David Benedict on various strategic projects. Godi also serves as a primary sport administrator for women's tennis and women's ice hockey and a secondary sport administrator for the football program. He also assists the department in the scheduling of future opponents for the football program.
Nate Patrylak has been promoted to Director of Business Services for the athletics department. Patrylak is an integral part of the Athletic Business Office as he oversees the day-to-day operations, including but not limited to, payroll, procurement and contracting. He also assists in the development of the department budget and processing of all fiscal transactions. Patrylak also serves as the secondary sport administrator for women's lacrosse.
