Swin Cash to Join Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame This Weekend

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Former UConn women's basketball standout Swin Cash will be induced into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame this weekend as a member of the Class of 2022.
The Enshrinement process will conclude with the Enshrinement Ceremony on Saturday in Springfield, Mass. – the Birthplace of Basketball. The Enshrinement Ceremony will air on NBATV at 7 p.m.
Cash helped lead UConn to the 2000 and 2002 NCAA Championships. She was the NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player and a WBCA All-American in 2002.
The McKeesport, Pa., native was taken second overall in the 2002 WNBA Draft by the Detroit Shock and went on to an elite career in the league. Cash was a three-time WNBA Champion, a four-time WNBA All-Star and a two-time WNBA All-Star MVP. She was twice named All-WNBA Second Team.
Cash also had a successful career with USA Basketball. She won gold at the 2004 and 2012 Olympics, as well as gold at the 2010 FIBA World Championship.
She is one of 11 women to earn an NCAA Championship, Olympic gold medal, FIBA World Championship gold medal and a WNBA Championship.
Cash retired from basketball in 2016. She is currently the Vice President of Basketball Operations and Team Development for the New Orleans Pelicans.
Cash is the second UConn women's basketball player to earn the highest honor in basketball. She joins Rebecca Lobo (Class of 2017) as well as head coach Geno Auriemma (Class of 2006). Cash was inducted in to the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021.
