Edwards, Fudd Named to Wooden Midseason Top 25

LOS ANGELES – UConn women's basketball junior Aaliyah Edwards and sophomore Azzi Fudd were two of 25 players named to the John R. Wooden Award Top 25 Watch List, as announced by the Los Angeles Athletic Club on Wednesday.
Chosen by a poll of national college basketball experts based on their performances during the 2022-23 season thus far, the list comprises of 25 student-athletes who are front-runners for the sport's most prestigious honor.
Edwards has been a force as an upperclassman. She is currently averaging 17.4 points per game and leads the team with 9.8 rebounds per game and a 63.5 field goal percentage. Edwards has reached the 20-point threshold in seven games this season and has notched six double-doubles.
Fudd is one of basketball's best shooters and currently leads the Huskies with 20.6 points per game. She has scored 20 or more points in four games this year, include two performances with 30+ points. has missed UConn's last seven games with a knee injury but resumed basketball activities last week.
The Huskies are back in action on Thursday at Xavier at 7 p.m. on SNY.
