Mühl Named to Lieberman Award Watch List

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – UConn senior guard Nika Mühl was one of 20 players selected to the watch list for the 2024 Nancy Lieberman Award, as announced by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association on Monday.
Now in its 24th year, the award recognizes the top point guard in women's NCAA Division I college basketball. A national committee of top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 20 candidates. To be considered for this prestigious award, candidates must exhibit the floor leadership, playmaking, and ball-handling skills of Class of 1996 Hall-of-Famer Nancy Lieberman.
Mühl was a finalist for the 2023 Nancy Lieberman Award. She set the UConn single-season assist record last season with 284 assists, passing Sue Bird's previous record of 231 assists. The Zagreb, Croatia, native also set the UConn single-game assist record with 15 vs. NC State on Nov. 20, 2022.
Mühl had 12 double-digit assists games last season and averaged 7.9 assists per game, a career high. She also set personal bests with 7.1 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.
Five Huskies have won the Nancy Lieberman Award a total of nine times: Sue Bird (2000, '01, '02), Diana Taurasi (2003, '04), Renee Montgomery (2009), Moriah Jefferson (2015, '16) and Paige Bueckers (2021).
