Jackson Mitchell to Play in 2024 Hula Bowl

STORRS, Conn. - UConn senior linebacker Jackson Mitchell (Ridgefield, Conn.) has accepted an invitation to play in the 2024 Hula Bowl Football All-Star Game on January 13th in Orlando, Fla.
The 2024 Hula Bowl will be played at the UCF FBC Mortgage Stadium with kick-off scheduled for 12 noon. The head coaches for this year's game will be Mike Smith and Brian Billick. Â
Mitchell was recently named All-New England for the third-straight season after wrapping up a standout career for the Huskies. The senior linebacker once again led the Husky defense in tackles, racking up 113 total tackles this fall. He averaged 9.4 tackles per game to rank 19th in FBS. He also finished with 7.0 tackles for a loss, 1.0 sacks, a forced fumble, fumble recovery and interception. He got his second career defensive touchdown in the win at Rice, returning a fumble 50-yards for a score.
On the season, he had five games with double digit tackles and finished with 19 over his career. Mitchell ends his career third on the all-time list at UConn in total tackles with 438 over his four seasons.
