Juhász Named Top 10 Candidate for 2023 Lisa Leslie Award

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – UConn women's basketball graduate student Dorka Juhász was named a 2023 Lisa Leslie Award Top 10 candidate, as announced by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Friday.
Juhász is averaging a double-double with season with 15.0 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. Both are career highs for the Pecs, Hungary, native.
Juhász has scored in double digits in 14 games this season and has double-digit rebounds in nine games. She has eight double-doubles on the season.
The graduate student set a career high with 18 rebounds vs. Creighton on Dec. 28.
In March, five finalists will be presented to Leslie and the Hall of Fame's selection committee. The Selection Committee for the Lisa Leslie Award is composed of top women's college basketball personnel including media members, head coaches, sports information directors and Hall of Famers.
The winner of the 2023 Lisa Leslie Award will be presented on a to be determined date, along with the other four members of the Women's Starting Five. Additional awards being presented include the Nancy Lieberman Award (Point Guard), Ann Meyers Drysdale Award (Shooting Guard), Cheryl Miller Award (Small Forward) and the Katrina McClain Award (Power Forward), in addition to the Men's Starting Five.
Earlier this week, junior Nika Mühl was named to the Lieberman Award candidate list while junior Aaliyah Edwards was selected as a candidate for the McClain Award.
