Huskies Compete Hard at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. - The University of Connecticut track & field teams competed tough at the Raleigh Relays for a three-day meet from Thursday, Mar. 23 to Saturday, Mar. 25.Â
There were many results to be proud of for the Husky runners as three of the six runners competing in the meet broke their personal best. Â
For the men, James Maniscalco would put up a stellar time in the 5,000 meters finishing in 13:56.34 and placing 18th out of 205 finishers. Kevin Cawley also finished strong as he competed in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with an 8:58.97 time.Â
To add, two huge personal records would come from Samuel Geisler in the 1,500 meters (3:48.12)Â and Kabir Chavan in the 10,000 meters (30:23.46).Â
For the women, Rachel Woodruff in the 3,000-meter steeplechase would finish with a personal best of 10:50.65. Also, Chloe Thomas would put up a solid time in the 1,500 meters finishing in 23rd out of 185 finishers with a time of 4:22.37.Â
"Overall, a great couple of days for distance running," Director of Track & Field Beth Alford-Sullivan said. "Our Huskies ran tough on tired legs from heavy training. This sets us up for a great outdoor season."Â
