Grace Jenkins earns third BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, Aziah James named to Honor Roll

STORRS, Conn. – UConn freshman catcher Grace Jenkins has been named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the third time this season. Aziah James earned Honor Roll for the second straight week.
Jenkins led the Huskies this weekend with four runs batted in adding to her team high of 21 in her freshman season. She delivered her first career walk off hit on Friday night against Georgetown with a single to bring in the winning run. She finished the week with a slash line of .364/.364/.533, earning a hit in all three games in the Georgetown series.
James is riding a five game hit streak totaling seven hits this past week in only 13 at bats. The graduate senior has been a reliable hitter in the Huskies lineup all season, as she leads the team in hits with 31 ranking fourth in the BIG EAST. She finished the week with three runs batted in, and four runs scored, holding an impressive slash line of .538/.692/.625.
