Edwards to Represent Canada at 2023 FIBA AmeriCup

STORRS, Conn. – UConn women's basketball senior forward Aaliyah Edwards will compete with the Canadian Senior Women's National Team in the 2023 FIBA Women's AmeriCup in Leon, Mexico, beginning Sunday, July 2.
Canada will face Mexico, Puerto Rico, Colombia and the Dominican Republic in Group B play. The top four teams from the two groups will advance to the quarterfinals.
Edwards has been a member of Canada Basketball since 2017 and made her senior team debut in 2019. She was the youngest member of Canada's 2020 Olympic team.
The Kingston, Ontario, native had a breakout season in 2022-23. Edwards led the Huskies with 16.6 points while adding 9.0 rebounds per game. She was named the BIG EAST's Most Improved Player, All-BIG EAST First Team, the BIG EAST Tournament's Most Outstanding Player and a USBWA and AP Third Team All-American.
