ZAGREB, Croatia – The UConn women's basketball team began its 2023 Foreign Tour on Tuesday after landing in Zagreb, Croatia. The Huskies will spend two days in the capital of Croatia, which is the hometown of senior Nika Mühl.
The team left Boston on Monday evening, traveling to Amsterdam for a layover before landing in Zagreb mid-morning. After checking into the hotel, the Huskies went on a walking tour of Zagreb before participating in a welcome dinner.
UConn plays its first of four games on the foreign tour on Wednesday at 7 p.m. CEST (1 p.m. ET) against the Croatian All-Stars at Srednje škole Jelkovec in Zagreb. The game will hold special significance for Mühl, as her first in her home country and first in front of her parents since arriving at UConn in summer 2021.
Barring technical difficulties, UConn's games in Europe will be available on UConn+ the day following competition.
UConn will travel to Ljubljana, Slovenia; Bolognia, Italy; and Venice, Italy, on its foreign tour, playing one game in each city over the next 10 days.
