Huskies Explore Slovenia, Win Second Game of Tour

LJUBLJANA, Slovenia – The UConn women's basketball team took in the second country of the 2023 Foreign Tour over the last two days.
UConn first arrived in Bled, Slovenia, on Thursday. After taking in the lake views and enjoying lunch with Slovenian cuisine, part of the group went on Europe's longest zipline, with over 4 kilometers of zipline going across a protected sanctuary. Over seven lines, the Huskies took in views of the Julian Alps and the Sava Dolinka River.
Those who wanted a more leisurely afternoon took a boat ride around Lake Bled before touring Bled Castle.
After the day's adventures, the Huskies traveled to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, where the team is staying in the country.
The Huskies took a walking tour of Ljubljana on Friday, learning about the city's history and Slovenian culture. The tour ended with a ride up to Ljubljana Castle, which featured breathtaking, panoramic views of the city.
Game two came on Friday evening with the Huskies taking on Akson Ilirija. Senior Aaliyah Edwards paced the Huskies with 24 points and nine rebounds as UConn won, 98-68. Junior Azzi Fudd continued her hot scoring as she notched 19 vs. Ilirija.
UConn's freshmen have showed few growing pains on the court in Europe. KK Arnold was impressive Friday, notching 17 points, six rebounds and six assists.
The tour continues Saturday as UConn makes its way to Bologna, Italy.
