UConn Selected as No. 3 Seed in 2024 NCAA Tournament

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's basketball team will compete in the NCAA Tournament for the 35th straight season as the Huskies were selected as the No. 3 seed in the Portland 3 Region of the 2024 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship.
UConn will open the NCAA Tournament vs. No. 14-seed Jackson State in the First Round on Saturday in Gampel Pavilion at 1 p.m. on ABC. The Huskies will also host No. 6 Syracuse vs. No. 11 Auburn/Arizona on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN2. The winners will face off in the Second Round on Monday in Gampel.
Auburn and Arizona will compete in a First Four game on Thursday in Gampel Pavilion at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.
This is the third time in program history the Huskies have been picked as a No. 3 seed (1991, 2005).
The Huskies have competed in every NCAA Tournament beginning with the 1988-89 season. In that time, UConn has advanced to 22 Final Fours and won 11 National Championships.
Head coach Geno Auriemma and the Huskies are 132-23 in NCAA Tournament games. Auriemma is the winningest head coach in postseason play.
UConn (29-5, 18-0 BIG EAST) won the BIG EAST's automatic bid by winning the conference tournament last weekend.
