Men's Track & Field Shows Out at USF Invitational

TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Connecticut men's track & field team showed out at the USF Invitational with the men's meet on Friday and the women's meet on Saturday.Â
In total, the men finished with 13 top-five results, five personal bests, and two first-place results. Â
Travis Roux finished the day with a personal best mark after breaking the previous school record mark in the hammer throw with a 60.50m result, placing second. Alex Krause also took third in the event with a personal best of 57.47m. Â
In the 4x100m relay, Noble Gongon, Joseph O'Brien, Damon Simpson, Richmond Kwaateng, and OJ Singletary set a season best (4th, 40.45). Kyle Johnson has been putting up strong performances this season and had another bold mark in the triple jump (1st, 15.52m). Also, strong marks from Kasey Savage (PR, 3rd, 15.19m), Joron Harrell (4th, 14.82m). To round it out, Mahamed Sharif in the 800m (1st, 1:49.99)Â

The Huskies next have the Duke Invitational from April 11-13 and the UConn Northeast Challenge on April 12-13 in Storrs.Â
