UConn to Take on SCSU in Exhibition Sunday

STORRS, Conn. – The top-ranked UConn women's basketball team will face Southern Connecticut in the Huskies' final preseason exhibition on Sunday at 1 p.m. in PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford, Conn.

Sunday's game will air locally on The Wax (WWAX) and will stream for free everywhere on UConn+. The games will be broadcast through the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97.9).
UConn played one previous exhibition, an 84-67 victory over Boston College. Graduate student Azzi Fudd led the Huskies with 20 points while sophomore Sarah Strong had 17.
The Owls were picked second in the preseason Northeast 10 Conference Coaches' Poll. Southern Connecticut finished 2024-25 with a 19-11 record and competed in the NCAA East Regional.
The Huskies were picked to finished first in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll. Strong was named the conference's preseason Player of the Year while Kelis Fisher was selected as preseason Freshman of the Year. Fudd, senior Serah Williams and juniors KK Arnold and Ashlynn Shade were named Preseason All-BIG EAST.
Strong was also tabbed a Preseason AP All-American.
UConn was selected No. 1 in the preseason AP and WBCA Coaches polls.
UConn will officially open the 2025-26 season against No. 20 Louisville on Tuesday, Nov. 4 in the Armed Forces Classic, which will take place at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
