UConn Places Six on All-BIG EAST Teams

STORRS, Conn. – Six UConn men's soccer student-athletes were named to All-BIG EAST teams on Wednesday morning.
Redshirt-sophomore midfielder Sabri Hanni (Paris, France) earned First Team All-BIG EAST honors for the first time in his career. This is the second year in a row Hanni has earned All-BIG EAST honors. Hanni has started in all 17 games this season for the Huskies, recording three goals and five assists, totaling 11 points. This is the second straight season, Hanni has tallied double digit points.
UConn earned a conference best four student-athletes on the All-BIG EAST Second Team in Kyle Durham, Charlie Holmes, Ayoub Lajhar, and Nicolas Tomerius.
Redshirt-sophomore goalkeeper Kyle Durham (Brooklyn, N.Y.) garners BIG EAST honors for the first time in his career. Durham has started in all 17 games for the Huskies, recording eight clean sheets this season. Durham leads all BIG EAST goalkeepers in saves (78), saves per game (4.59), and save percentage (.830).
Senior forward Charlie Holmes (Seattle, Wash.) earns his first career All-BIG EAST nod. Holmes has appeared in 16 of UConn's 17 matches this season at forward, scoring six goals, and adding three assists. His 13 points are second on the Huskies roster.
Junior defender Ayoub Lajhar (Brattleboro, Vt.) collects BIG EAST honors for the first time in his career. Lajhar has started in 15 matches at left back this season, totaling a goal and four assists.
Senior captain Nicolas Tomerius (Berlin, Germany) picks up All-BIG EAST Second Team honors for the second time in his career (2023). Tomerius has appeared in all 17 games for the Huskies this season, recording two goals and five assists.
Senior forward Austin Brummett (Bow, N.H.) earned All-BIG EAST Third Team honors. In his first season in Storrs, Brummett has led the Huskies roster in goals and points with seven goals and seventeen points. He has appeared in 16 of UConn's 17 matches at forward with 15 starts. Brummett has three game-winning goals this season, tied for the conference lead.
