Fudd Earns National Player of the Week Honors

STORRS, Conn. – After leading the No. 1 UConn women's basketball team to a 2-0 week, including a win over No. 6 Michigan, graduate student Azzi Fudd earned AP National Player of the Week and USBWA National Player of the Week honors.
Fudd was tabbed the BIG EAST Player of the Week on Monday. She averaged 27.5 points per game on a blistering .581/.688/1.000 shooting split while adding 6.5 rebounds per game.
In a 72-69 win over No. 6 Michigan, Fudd scored a season-high 31 points, shooting 7-for-12 from three-point range and grabbing five rebounds, two blocks and two steals.
Fudd scored 13 points in the fourth quarter and shot 3-for-3 from three-point range and 4-for-4 from the free throw line to hold off the Wolverines' comeback attempt.
In a 93-41 win over Utah, Fudd had 24 points on an efficient 9-for-11 shooting, going 4-4 from three. She notched a career-high eight rebounds vs. the Utes.
This season, Fudd is leading UConn with 21.0 points per game while shooting 51.1 percent from the field and 54.8 percent from three-point range.
The top-ranked Huskies (6-0) have a break before beginning BIG EAST play at Xavier (3-2) on Sunday, Nov. 30 at 2:30 p.m. on FS1.
