UConn Mourns the Passing of Former Athletics Member Tom Weston

Tom Weston, a long-time member of the UConn Division of Athletics family, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 27.
Weston was a UConn Athletics employee for a remarkable 40 years and served as Team Travel Director until his retirement in 2019.
His primary duties at UConn covered coordination of all team travel, aspect of prospective student-athletes visits to campus, as well as the payment of game officials.
Weston earned his degree from UConn in 1979 in physical therapy and began his UConn career splitting his time between athletic training and the athletic business office.
As an undergraduate, he was a student assistant in the athletic business office.
After graduation, he worked as a physical therapist at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, before joining the athletic department at UConn.
He was active in gamedays at UConn as a scoreboard operator and timer for a number of sports.
A native of Granby, Conn., Weston was Granby High School graduate.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, Dec. 8 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic, Conn. Friends and family are asked to wear UConn blue and white.
