STORRS, Conn. – Five Huskies garnered United Soccer Coaches All-East Region honors, headlined by First Teamers Austin Brummett and Sabri Hanni. Nicolas Tomerius was selected to the Second Team while Kyle Durham and Ayoub Lajhar earned Third Team honors.
Senior forward Austin Brummett (Bow, N.H.) earned First Team All-Region honors after leading the Huskies with ten goals this season. He appeared in 20 of UConn's 21 matches and logged the fifth-most minutes on the roster. Brummett helped propel UConn to the NCAA Sweet 16, highlighted by his two-goal performance in the Huskies 3-1 win over Cornell in NCAA Second Round. His 24 points in 2025 marked the highest total by a Husky since Abdou Mbacke Thiam's 35-point campaign in 2018. Brummett also delivered four game-winning goals this year, ranking 15th nationally and second in the conference. He earned Third Team All-BIG EAST honors after his standout senior campaign.
Redshirt-sophomore midfielder Sabri Hanni (Paris, France) picked up All-Region honors for the second consecutive season after another strong campaign in the Huskies midfield. He appeared in 20 of UConn's 21 matches this season with 18 starts. Hanni scored three goals and recorded five assists totaling eleven points, his second consecutive season recording double digit points. His 39 shots were third on the Huskies roster this year. Hanni was also named to the All-BIG EAST First Team in 2025.
Senior captain Nicolas Tomerius (Berlin, Germany) was named to the All-East Region Second Team for the first time in his career. Tomerius appeared in all 21 matches for the Huskies, making 13 starts in the midfield, before transitioning to defense for the final 6 matches of the season. Tomerius tallied nine points on two goals and five assists, including the game-winning goal against Brown earlier this year (9/10/25). He also secured All-BIG Second Team recognition for the second time in his career (2023).
Redshirt-sophomore goalkeeper Kyle Durham (Brooklyn, N.Y.) earned All-East Region Third Team honors after a breakout 2025 campaign. He started in all 21 games in goal for the Huskies and finished the season as the nation's leader in saves with 98. Durham also topped all BIG EAST goalkeepers in save percentage (.803) and saves per game (4.67). He recorded eight clean sheets and capped off his standout year with All-BIG EAST Second Team recognition.
Junior defender Ayoub Lajhar (Brattleboro, Vt.) received All-East Region Third Team honors for the first time in his career. He appeared in 20 matches, making 19 starts at left back. From his defensive position, he tallied nine points on a goal and a team high seven assists. His lone goal of the season was the decisive game-winning goal against Creighton (10/3/25). Lajhar also secured his first conference recognition, being named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team for his stellar junior season.
