Quiñonez Named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week

NEW YORK – For the fifth time this season, UConn women's basketball forward Blanca Quiñonez was selected as the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, as announced by the conference Monday.

Quiñonez scored 12 points on 5-7 shooting in a 94-47 win at Butler on Sunday. She added three rebounds and three steals.

This season, Quiñonez is averaging 10.5 points with a .584/.577/.833 shooting split.

The top-ranked Huskies (13-0, 4-0 BIG EAST) travel to Providence (8-6, 1-2) on New Year's Eve at 3 p.m. on peacock/NBC Sports Network.
