Strong Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

STORRS, Conn. – For the fifth time this season, UConn women's basketball sophomore forward Sarah Strong was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week, as announced by the conference Monday.
In a 99-50 win over Villanova last Thursday, Strong led the Huskies with 24 points on 10-17 shooting, nine rebounds and five blocks. She also had four assists and three steals vs. the Wildcats.
This season, Strong is averaging 18.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.6 blocks and 3.7 steals on a .599/.420/.897 shooting split.
Strong currently has 993 career points in 58 career games.
This is Strong's eighth career BIG EAST Player of the Week honor.
The top-ranked Huskies (18-0) host Notre Dame (12-5) today at 5 p.m. in Gampel Pavilion on FOX.
