Abby Beran On USA Lacrosse Preseason All-American List

STORRS, CT - UConn women's lacrosse defender Abby Beran (Wading River, NY) was named to the 2026 USA Lacrosse preseason All-American team, earning honorable mention honors announced on Tuesday. USA Lacrosse recognized 75 players from 30 institutions with preseason honors. Preseason All-Americans are selected by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors with input from collegiate coaches.

Beran is back to lead the Huskies defense this spring after earning 2025 BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year honors last season. She led the team in ground balls with 53 and caused turnover with 33 on the way to being a unanimous All-BIG EAST first team selection. She was a first team choice as a freshman as well.

Beran and the Huskies will open their season on February 7 at Drexel.
