Strong Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

NEW YORK – UConn women's basketball sophomore forward Sarah Strong was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week, as announced by the conference Monday.
Strong averaged 17.0 points on 75.0% shooting, 7.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals in 22.6 minutes per game in two wins last week.
In an 83-69 win at Villanova, Strong had her seventh double-double and 13th 20-point game of the season with 21 points, 12 rebounds four assists, three blocks and five steals.
In an 81-38 win over Providence, Strong scored 13 points on 6-7 shooting in 13 minutes.
Strong leads the Huskies in points, rebounds, blocks and steals this season. She is currently averaging a .600/.406/892 shooting split.
This is Strong's 10th career BIG EAST Player of the Week honor and seventh this season.
The top-ranked Huskies (29-0, 18-0) play their final regular season home game on Thursday vs. Georgetown (13-14, 6-12) at PeoplesBank Arena at 7 p.m. The game will air on TNT/truTV.
