No. 1 UConn Travels to DePaul Wednesday

STORRS, Conn. – The top-ranked UConn women's basketball team (23-0, 12-0 BIG EAST) faces DePaul (5-19, 2-11) Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT in Wintrust Arena. The game will air on truTV and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97.9).
After being tied 42-42 at halftime, UConn pulled away to beat No. 15 Tennessee, 96-66, on Sunday. Graduate student Azzi Fudd had one of her most complete games this season, notching 27 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals. Sophomore Sarah Strong had 26 points, nine rebounds and four assists. The 30-point margin of victory is the most in the UConn-Tennessee series.
The Huskies lead the nation with 24.4 assists per game. UConn has dished out 20+ assists in its last 22 games. Junior KK Arnold ranks third nationally with a 4.13 assist-turnover ratio.
Including BIG EAST Tournament games, the Huskies have won 59 straight league games.
The Huskies have won their last 18 straight games by at least 25 points, the longest streak by a Division I team over the last 25 seasons.
UConn is 27-1 all-time vs. DePaul, including 27-0 under head coach Geno Auriemma. The teams last faced off on Dec. 7 in Gampel Pavilion, a 102-35 win for UConn. Sophomore Sarah Strong led the Huskies with 20 points in the game.
DePaul fell to Villanova, 69-56, last Saturday. This season, Kate Novik leads the Blue Demons with 12.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Head coach Jill M. Pizzotti is in her first season as head coach of the Blue Demons.
