Fudd, Strong Earn CSC Academic All-District

STORRS, Conn. – UConn women's basketball graduate student Azzi Fudd and sophomore Sarah Strong were selected to the 2025-26 Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team, which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combines performances on the court and in the classroom, as named by the College Sports Communicators.
Fudd and Strong were selected as CSC Academic All-America finalists and will advance to the national ballot. Academic All-America honorees will be announced April 15.
Fudd earned 2025-26 BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors. She is currently pursuing her MBA after graduating with a bachelor's degree in communications in three years in 2024. A four-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team member and eight-time Director of Athletics' Honor Roll selection, she is maintaining a 3.57 cumulative grade-point average.
On the court, Fudd is having her best season in Storrs. She was named a First Team All-American by the AP and USBWA and is a finalist for the Naismith Trophy, AAU Sullivan Award and Ann Meyers Drysdale Award and is on the Wooden Award National Ballot. Fudd was also selected to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team.
Fudd is averaging a career-high 17.8 points per game on personal-best shooting percentages (.495/.454/.951). Fudd has already set single-season career highs in rebounds (94), assists (108) and steals (91).
Strong holds a 3.61 grade-point average. She is a two-time Director of Athletics' Honor Roll selection and was named to the 2024-25 BIG EAST All-Academic Team.
Strong is the 2026 USBWA Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Year and an AP and USBWA First Team All-American. She was named the unanimous BIG EAST Player of the Year and the conference's Defensive Player of the Year, as well as unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team and to the All-Defensive Team. She was named the BIG EAST Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
Strong is averaging a .600/.419/.850 shooting split with 18.4 points per game and doing so in an efficient manner, averaging 26.4 minutes per game. UConn's most consistent player, Strong has scored in double digits in 49 consecutive games and leads the Huskies in points, rebounds, blocks and steals. Strong's 117 steals rank second in a single season by a UConn player.
Strong is on the Wooden Award National Ballot and is a Katrina McClain Award finalist.
