Josh Mooney Named BIG EAST Men's Field Athlete of the Week

STORRS, CT - UConn junior Josh Mooney took home the BIG EAST Men's Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday after a record setting performance at the Mt. SAC Relays last weekend.

Mooney delivered a historic performance at the Mt. SAC Relays, breaking both the school and BIG EAST records in the decathlon with 8,033 points. The junior's mark leads the conference, Northeast and East Region, and ranks second nationally this season.

On the women's side, sophomore Maresa Hense was tabbed the Women's Field Athlete of the Week. Hense turned in a record-breaking performance at the Mt. SAC Relays, shattering the school record in the heptathlon with 5,816 points. The sophomore's mark leads the BIG EAST and Northeast Region, ranks second in the East Region, and sits seventh nationally this season.
