Mike Morrison Named Senior Director of Development For Athletics
Mike Morrison re-joined the Division of Athletics as the Assistant Athletics Director - Development in January 2014. Mike currently serves as the interim director of the athletic development overseeing the day to day operations. In his role Mike is charged with identifying, cultivating and soliciting major gifts for the Division of Athletics focusing on capital projects and endowments. He oversees the major giving program and major giving staff.
Mike first joined the University of Connecticut's Division of Athletics in 2006 as Associate Director of Athletic Development. He was an integral member of the development team that secured more than $50 million during his first five years. In 2011 he was promoted to Director of Major Gifts - Athletics where he successfully focused on identifying and securing several key six-figure gifts.
In 2012 Morrison joined the University of Connecticut's newly created Regional Giving Team as the Director of Development. In this role, Mike was responsible for identifying, cultivating, engaging and soliciting major gift prospects in the following regions: Texas, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Philadelphia.
Prior to his return to UConn, Mike held positions in athletic fundraising at Rhode Island College, University of New Mexico and Boston College. He holds a BA in Political Science and a MA in Education with a concentration in Sport Management from the University of Connecticut.
He resides in Wallingford, CT with his wife Nicole '01 and their two sons Jacob (9) and Joshua (7).
