UConn Foundation Announces Creation of Dee and Ginny Rowe Lifetime Giving Societies

STORRS, Conn. – The University of Connecticut Foundation has announced the creation of the Donald “Dee” & Ginny Rowe Athletics Lifetime Giving Societies. Named after the treasured couple who were members of the University of Connecticut community since 1969, the Giving Societies will tier benefits based on lifetime donations to the division of athletics.
The Donald “Dee” & Ginny Rowe Athletic Lifetime Giving Societies:
Donald “Dee” Rowe has been a member of the UConn community since 1969 when he was hired as head coach of the men’s basketball team. During his tenure, he led the Huskies to an overall record of 120-88 and was twice named New England Coach of the Year. In 1978, he founded the Athletic Development Fund and took the department from a zero base in 1978 to a level of $2 million in 1990-91, when he retired. Dee continued to be an ambassador not only for the Division of Athletics but also the entire UConn community until his death in 2021.
