2025-26 Basketball Seat Selection Process Letter
Dear Basketball Season Ticket Holder:
The completion of many outstanding, new or renovated athletic practice and competition venues on the Storrs campus over the past few years has been dramatic. We are steadfastly dedicated to enhancing our facilities, for the benefit of both the student-athlete and fan experiences. And now, our legendary basketball home, Harry A. Gampel Pavilion, will undergo significant improvements.
This coming season, we will unveil the first of many new changes, highlighted by videoboards that are seven times larger than the existing displays, a state-of-the-art lighting system, and graphics exhibiting our extraordinary basketball history and success. We will continue to examine the addition of appealing, fan-friendly elements to make future gamedays even more enjoyable.
In 2025-26, the entire lower-level seating structure, original to the building when it opened in 1990, will be replaced. New chairback seats will be present throughout the non-student seating areas in the lower bowl, in addition to handrails in the aisles to enhance the experience for our loyal season ticket holders.
Similarly, our hoops home in Hartford, XL Center, will also see substantial changes for the 2025-26 season, including notable upgrades to selected seating areas and new premium seating options. These renovations will be among the most significant to occur since the building opened its doors in 1975.
We are extremely excited about the transformations to our two home venues, which will more appropriately reflect the pride and expectations for the Basketball Capital of the World. Since the physical structure of the seating will change, it will be necessary to do a seat selection process in the late spring/early summer of 2025, in advance of the 2025-26 season, for the entirety of the lower and upper levels in both Gampel Pavilion and XL Center. All current season ticket holders in the lower and upper levels will be required to participate in the seat selection process to select their desired seats from the available inventory.
Consistent with Husky Athletic Fund guidelines, we will endeavor to make the selection process fair and equitable, while maintaining our core philosophy to accommodate as many of our dedicated donors as possible. Seat selection timeslots will be first allotted to Husky Athletic Fund donors who have made lifetime cash (not pledged) gifts of $1 million or more to UConn Athletics, followed by donors at large, based on priority points. To view your current priority point balance, please visit UConnHuskies.com/myaccount.
Cash gifts made prior to March 31, 2025 will be applied to your overall priority point total for the seat selection process. Additionally, philanthropic (non seat-related) cash gifts made prior to this date will earn double the points through our ongoing โRaise A Banner, Raise Your Points BONUSโ promotion.
More detailed information on the seating changes, pricing, priority points rankings and the selection process will be available before the end of the calendar year.
The forthcoming enhancements to Gampel Pavilion and XL Center are a testament to the student-athletes, coaches and staff who have laid the foundation for our basketball greatness, and the legions of UConn fans who have been committed to our mission for excellence. We will experience a new era of UConn Basketball and hope you share our anticipation for what promises to be a bright future.
Thank you for your continued support of UConn Athletics and our student-athletes. We look forward to seeing you throughout the upcoming season. Go Huskies!
