University of Connecticut Athletics

UConn Athletics is actively advancing a series of capital enhancement projects aimed at elevating its athletic facilities to meet the evolving needs of student-athletes, fans, and the broader university community. These initiatives underscore UConn's commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and the enhancement of the overall athletic experience.
A gift to any of UConn Athletics capital enhancement funds plays a critical role in advancing the quality and innovation of all our athletic programs. These contributions fund state-of-the-art facilities, upgraded equipment, and improved infrastructure, ensuring our Huskies have access to the best training environments possible.
Below you will find a list of open capital enhancement projects. If you are interested in contributing to one of these open opportunities, please reach out to the Husky Athletic Fund.
Bailey Student-Athlete Success Center
The Bailey Student-Athlete Success Center is a transformative project, made possible by a historic donation from alumna Dr. Trisha Bailey. This 80,000-square-foot facility is designed to support the academic, athletic, and personal development of UConn's student-athletes. It will house an academic center, clinical space for sports medicine and mental health services, kinesiology teaching space, a rowing practice tank, strength and conditioning apparatus, a community nutrition kitchen, and locker rooms. The center will also serve as the home for six of UConn's Olympic sports programs, five of which are women's teams, underscoring the university's commitment to gender equity in athletics.

TOSCANO FAMILY ICE FORUM
The Toscano Family Ice Forum is a state-of-the-art 2,600-seat ice hockey arena on the Storrs campus, home of UConn men's and women's ice hockey teams. The arena opened in January 2023. The facility includes full Division I training and support for the women’s and men’s ice hockey teams; team lounges, dry locker area and locker rooms with video displays; locker rooms for visiting teams; training space with a hydrotherapy area; strength and conditioning room; and other areas such as coaches’ offices, a press box, and a large center-hung display scoreboard with perimeter ribbon boards designed to create an outstanding experience for fans.

UCONN VOLLEYBALL CENTER (UVC)
The former Mark Edward Freitas Ice Forum has been completely reimagined and transformed into the state-of-the-art UConn Volleyball Center, now serving as the dedicated home for UConn Volleyball on the Storrs campus. This dynamic new facility features a premier gameday court outfitted with chairback seating and team benches, creating an exciting and intimate atmosphere for fans. The center also includes three full practice courts, modern locker rooms, a fully equipped athletic training room, and dedicated office space for the coaching staff. Designed to support both performance and player development, the UConn Volleyball Center represents a major investment in the future of Husky Volleyball.

OTHER CAPTIAL ENHANCEMENT PRIORITIES
Donors play a vital role in the continued success of UConn Athletics by contributing to capital projects—especially those within the Husky Athletic Village. While many world-class facilities have already been built, ongoing support is essential to maintain, enhance, and modernize these spaces to meet the evolving needs of our student-athletes and programs. Continued investment ensures that these facilities remain a source of pride and a competitive advantage for UConn’s 21 Division I teams for years to come.
