John Sibel enters his third season as an offensive graduate assistant on the Huskies' coaching staff in 2020.
Previously Sibel spent two seasons at Lehigh University. He worked with Lehigh’s running backs.
Â
In his first season, Sibel worked with a stable of backs that was led by consensus All-American Dominick Bragalone, who led the FCS in total rushing yards and scoring and became the first Lehigh player to record three 1,000-yard rushing seasons. Bragalone gained 1,388 yards as a junior and rushed for 18 touchdowns. Behind Bragalone, Micco Brisker and Nana Amankwah-Ayeh combined to rush for eight touchdowns and nearly 500 yards.
Sibel joined Lehigh after working at Susquehanna University, where he was the team’s wide receivers coach and assistant special teams coordinator.
Â
At Susquehanna, Sibel mentored the Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year as well as a pair of receivers who received All-Conference honors. Sibel was also responsible for coordinating Susquehanna’s kickoff return and punt return units.
Â
Before Susquehanna, Sibel was a wide receiver at Lycoming College from 2011-15. He was a three-time All-MAC Academic Team member and on the field ranked second on the team in receptions and receiving yards in the 2012, 2013 and 2014 seasons.
Â
Sibel earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Lycoming in 2015.
