Ryan Swingle begins his second season as an assistant on UConn Head Coach Jim Mora’s coaching staff in 2025. Swingle will continue in his role as the assistant offensive line coach.
Swingle came to Storrs ahead of the 2024 season and worked with the UConn offensive line last fall. He assisted with recruiting and development of the offensive line room. He helped coach a unit that ranked in the top-25 nationally in rushing yards per game (198.3 ypg) and top-15 in sacks allowed (1.08 pg). He was in charge of the weekly opponent advance scout and assisted Offensive Coordinator Gordon Sammis with organization of the offense.
Swingle came to UConn after two seasons at Hamilton College where he worked with the offensive line and tight ends and was the assistant offensive coordinator. In 2022, he was the interim offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach and led and called the offense. In 2023, he coordinated a run game that finished fourth in NESCAC.
He worked for one season as the assistant quarterbacks coach at Cornell University after starting his collegiate coaching career at Oberlin College. He served as the running backs coach and was the Director of On-Campus Recruiting.
Swingle coached at Elyria High School from 2019-20 and also was a football operations intern with the NFL’s Cleveland Browns in 2018 and 2019. He earned his degree in sports management from Baldwin Wallace University.
