BEFORE UCONN: Simon joined the UConn Golf Team as a member of Team Impact after defeating cancer twice before the age of 9. H eis a successful recipient of a stem cell transplant, spending 10 weeks in 2021 as an inpatient at Boston Children's Medical Center. With his 6-year battle behind him, Simon has returned to focus on his studies as a third-grader, his golf practice, and playing with his friends. Besides golf, he loves backflipping on his trampoline, video games, mini golfing, and constantly telling jokes.
ADDITIONAL GOLF HIGHLIGHTS: Began playing golf at age 2... Made his first birdie alongside his teammates and in from of Coach Pezzino in late fall of 2021... Fired a 49 in his first invitation to play at GreatHorse... Continues to average up on distance as well as focusing on the accuracy of his irons.
