Mouring On BIG EAST Pre-Season Second Team

NEW YORK, NY (Oct. 25) - University of Connecticut senior guard Albert Mouring has been named to the 2000-2001 Pre-Season All-BIG EAST Second Team in balloting by the league coaches.
The 6-3 Mouring, who led the entire BIG EAST Conference in three- point shooting one year ago and averaged 13.9 points per game for UConn, was the only Husky player named among the 10 BIG EAST players named to the Pre-Season All-Star teams.
University of Notre Dame consensus All-American Troy Murphy was named the Pre-Season Player of the Year and led the All-BIG EAST First Team. He was joined on the first unit by Troy Bell of Boston College, Kevin Braswell of Georgetown, Ricardo Greer of Pittsburgh, and Darius Lane of Seton Hall.
Joining Mouring on the All-BIG EAST Second Team were: Ruben Boumtje Boumtje of Georgetown, Lee Scruggs of Georgetown, Samuel Dalembert of Seton Hall, and Michael Bradley of Villanova.
Eddie Griffin of Seton Hall was named the BIG EAST Pre-Season Rookie of the Year.
