Connors, Russell Fall At ITA Eastern Regional Championships

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - University of Connecticut sophomores Trinell Russel (Voorheesville, N.Y.) and Colleen Connors (Ormond Beach, Fla.) fell in second round play at the 2000 ITA Women's Tennis Eastern Regional Championships on Nov. 5 in Williamsburg, Va.
Russel dropped a second round singles match to 17th-seeded Shikha Uberoi, 6-1, 6-1. She later combined with Connors in the doubles flight, but the Husky pair would fall to fifth-seeded Sanja Bajin and Sanaz Ghazal of Harvard, 8-1.
The tournament concludes fall season competition for the Connecticut women. The Huskies will be back in action in the spring.
