STORRS, CT (December 5) -- The University of Connecticut men’s hockey team was featured in a special article to the National Hockey League’s website (NHL.com) on Thursday afternoon, and will remain up for the next week.
The article, written by Bob Snow who is a writer for the website’s college section, takes about the growing pains and learning curves the program has faced and will face in the future. The story was written based on the pre-game preparation for the Huskies game against New Hampshire on November 30 in Durham, NH, UConn’s first-ever game against a nationally-ranked team.
Snow joined the Huskies in the pre-game locker room banter, and spoke to 15-year head coach Bruce Marshall and captains DJ Miller (Mount Lebanon, PA) and Kurt Kamienski (Pittsfield, MA) about the UConn hockey program’s past and things to come for the program, as well about the team’s attitude going into the night’s game.
The Huskies held the Wildcats scoreless for the first period and a half, and held a 1-0 lead on goal from Michael Hoffman (Scituate, MA) for over ten-minutes in the second period. New Hampshire scored three unanswered goals in the latter part of the second period, but the Huskies held on for the 3-1 loss.
