UCONN WELL-REPRESENTED AT NCAA YES CLINIC
Abbey VanDeusen (Fayetteville, N.Y.), Clare Schwan (Albany, N.Y.), Lauren Duffy (Madison, Conn.) and Head Coach Bonnie Rosen will represent UConn at the NCAA YES Clinic, held Saturday at Boston University, in conjunction with the 2006 women’s lacrosse final four.
"I am thrilled that we have the opportunity to be a part of the NCAA Yes Clinic,” Rosen said. “It is always wonderful to be able to give back to others in hopes that one day they too can experience all that sport has given to us. Our student-athletes are tremendous ambassadors of UConn and lacrosse and I am truly excited that they will serve as mentors to these young athletes."
The Youth Education through Sports (YES) Program is the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA's) premiere outreach to youth across the country. Held at select NCAA championship sites (approximately 20 each year), nearly 10,000 youth ages 10 to 18 annually are exposed to YES Clinics in a variety of sports, including football, softball, basketball, soccer, baseball, lacrosse, track and field, ice hockey, volleyball and field hockey.
