EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (August 14, 2006) --- Madison Square Garden-CT and the Office of Policy and Management (OPM), in collaboration with the University of Connecticut, announced on Monday that future land development taking place in the Rentschler Field area will necessitate changes to parking at the stadium. These changes will go into effect beginning with the UConn season opener on August 31 vs. Rhode Island and will carry through the entire 2006 UConn football season.
Major changes include:
The “runways” will no longer be utilized for red parking, but rather, as access roads to the two new red parking areas, which are closer to the stadium than the farthest points on the runways.
Gold (Club season ticket holders) and blue pass holders should enter via the Main or East Gate parking entrances, for convenient access to those respective lots (NOT the Willow Street Gate).
Handicap parking is now available adjacent to the stadium (indicated by orange on the stadium parking map). Patrons who have state issued handicap tags will have access to these parking areas and are asked to clearly display them for inspection by parking lot attendants.
LAZ parking representatives will be on site on game days to assist with patron parking.

These policies are in effect for the 2006 UConn football season. With land development continuing, there may be additional parking changes at Rentschler Field in the future. In conjunction with this future development, best efforts will always be made to ensure the preservation of convenient parking areas for UConn fans and attendees of Rentschler Field events.
