UConn-Indiana Football to Air on ESPN Regional

STORRS, Conn. (Sept. 11, 2006) -- The University of Connecticut’s football game at Indiana on Saturday, Sept. 23 will kick off at 3:30 p.m. at the Hoosiers’ in Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Ind. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN Regional and air in the northeast on a combination of WCTX (MyTV9) in Connecticut, SportsNet NY and Cox Sports Television in Rhode Island. It will also air outside of the northeast on WTTV (Indianapolis), Altitude (Denver), Cox-Tulsa, Cox-New Orleans, Cox-Omaha, Charter-St.Louis, MediaCom-Des Moines, and Comcast Michigan (TD).
The selection means that each of UConn’s first three games will be broadcast this year. ESPN Regional aired the season opener against Rhode Island on the YES Network and Cox Sports Television in Rhode Island. This week’s contest against Wake Forest is available to broadband subscribers on ESPN360. UConn has three pre-determined national television appearances already slated for later this season, with ESPN games against West Virginia (Oct. 20) and Rutgers (Oct. 29) and a Dec. 2 date at Louisville that will air on either ESPN or ESPN2. Other games will be added to the 2006 broadcast schedule on 12-day windows as the season progresses.
The Huskies are 1-0 so far in 2006 after beating URI, 52-7, in the season opener on Aug. 31 and aim for their fourth straight 2-0 start to the season this week. The Huskies return to action on Saturday at noon when they play host to 2-0 Wake Forest at Rentschler Field. The Demon Deacons defeated Syracuse, 20-10, in their opener and topped Duke, 14-13, on Saturday in their ACC opener.
