Vaughn Honored By BIG EAST; UConn-WVU On ESPNU

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -
University of Connecticut senior safety Robert Vaughn (North Attleboro, Mass.) was named the BIG EAST Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Vaughn had 10 tackles, one tackle for loss and two interceptions, including a 20-yard return for a touchdown, in the Huskies' 24-21 loss at Pittsburgh that wasn't decided until the game's final play. Vaughn had his 11th and 12th career interceptions to remain the active leader among BIG EAST players and fourth among active Bowl Subdivision players.
Running back Noel Devine of West Virginia was the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week while Pittsburgh kicker Dan Hutchins was named the Special Teams Player of the Week.

The league also announced that the UConn vs. West Virginia game on Saturday, Oct. 24 will kickoff at noon and be televised nationally by ESPNU.
