Kanuch Named To CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team

STORRS, Conn. - University of Connecticut senior wide receiver Brad Kanuch (Johnstown, Pa.) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) District 1 Academic All-District First Team.
Kanuch, who is second on the team this season in receiving yards, has a cumulative GPA of 3.67 through his first six semesters at the university as a social science - sport and leisure major.
This year, Kaunch has started and played in all eight games on the season recording 21 catches for 259 yards and one touchdown. He is averaging 12.3 yards per catch on his game changing receptions.
After being hampered by injuries in 2008, Kanuch started 12 games in 2007 and was third on team with 27 catches at the end of the season. He led the team in receptions in the 2007 Meineke Car Care Bowl with three catches for 36 yards. In 2006, Kanuch played in all 12 games starting eight of them.
A leader both on and off of the field, Kanuch has been named to the Dean's List in the Fall of 2006 and Springs of 2007 and 2008 also earning a spot on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll every semester since enrolling at the university.
