Spring Game Scoring System

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut Blue-White Spring Football Game, to be played this Saturday, April 18, at Rentschler Field, will use an "Offense-Defense" scoring system to determine the game's winner.
In this format, all the offensive players will be on the Blue Team while the White Team will be the defense.
The offense has six different ways to score points: six points for a touchdown, one or two points for a conversion, three points for a field goal, one point for a first down, three points for a run play of 15 yards or more and three points for a pass play of 20 yards or more.
The defense has nine ways to score: six points for a touchdown, four for a turnover, two for a drive stop, three for a three and out, two for a sack, three for a blocked field goal and one for a forced fumble, tackle for a loss or a blocked PAT.
The game begins at 12:00 p.m. at Rentschler Field and admission and parking are free. Parking lots open at 9:00 a.m. and stadium gates open at 11:00 a.m. There will be live radio coverage on WTIC-1080 AM and video streaming on UConnHuskies.com.
