Six Huskies Selected 2009 MLB Draft

STORRS, Conn. - A school record six University of Connecticut baseball players were selected in the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft , including sophomore pitcher Dan Mahoney who was selected in the fourth round as the 128th overall pick by the Florida Marlins.
Dusty Odenbach followed as the 242nd overall pick in the eighth round by the Kansas City, while Peter Fatse was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 24th round (736th pick).
John Folino, who finished his eligibility with the Huskies this spring, was taken in the 27th round by the St. Louis Cardinals as the 819th overall pick. Harold Brantley Jr was the second Husky to be picked by the Marlins as Florida took the junior outfielder in the 30th round as the draft's 908th pick.
David Erickson was selected on Thursday in the 32nd round by the San Diego Pardes whlie incoming Husky freshman Pat Butler was taken in the 42st round by the Minnesota Twins.
