SOUTHINGTON, Conn. - The University of women's basketball team was honored on Tuesday night at the Aqua Turf in Southington, Conn., for winning the 2008-09 NCAA National Championship with a perfect record of 39-0.
The title marked the sixth in the history of the UConn program and the third undefeated season.
The 2009-10 Huskies became the first team in NCAA Division I history (men's or women's) to go undefeated and win every game by at least 10 points.
