FOUR AND THEN HOME
After taking on Cal State Northridge in Northridge Calif. in a four-game series, the Connecticut Huskies will travel south down US-101 to USC to take on the 12-time National Champion Trojans in an 8:00 p.m. (EST) game on Wednesday, March 10.
Following the single game against the Trojans, UConn will jump on a plane for Knoxville, Tenn., where the Huskies will face Tennessee (3/12), Marshall (3/13) and No. 23 Ohio State (3/14).
UConn enters Wednesday night's game with a 5-2 record, the program's best start since beginning the 2006 season 5-2. The Huskies finished the `06 season with a program-best 39 victories.

QUICK HITS ON THE UCONN HUSKIES
- Head Coach Jim Penders earned his 200th career win in UConn's 11-2 victory over Cal State Northridge on Saturday, March 6. He currently boasts an overall record of 201-150-2 in his seventh year at UConn.
- The Huskies are batting .313 as a team this season and have a team ERA of 3.45 with 56 strikeouts.
- UConn returns seven starters from their 2009 line-up and four starting pitchers.
- Despite all of their losses to the MLB draft, the Huskies have been predicted to finish third in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches Poll.

UConn is 0-1 against USC, last facing them after defeating Texas in the College World Series in Omaha in 1972. In that contest, the Huskies lost in eleven innings to the eventual National Champion Trojans.
The Huskies are also 0-1 against Tennessee, with that lone ballgame coming in 1996, when UConn dropped a 6-0 decision to the Volunteers in Minneapolis, Minn. on March 3.
UConn and Marshall will compete for the first time in program history on Saturday, March 13.
Currently ranked No. 23 in this week's USA TODAY/ESPN Coaches' Poll, Ohio State will face the Huskies for the ninth time since 1970. Last season, UConn met the Buckeyes twice in its first six games of the season, while the Huskies fell in both contests.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
The USC Trojans are 6-6 this season with a 2-4 record at home. They are led by Matt Hart who has a .350 average in 11 games played. Ben Mount has a 3.32 ERA to lead the USC starting hurlers.
Tennessee is 6-5 and led by P.J. Polk who has 15 hits and nine runs scored in 11 games played. Stephen McCray has a 0.89 ERA and a 2-1 record in 20.1 innings of work.
Marshall's Victor Gomez has a team-high 13 hits and eight RBI while batting .325 for the 5-5 Herd. In three starts, Mike Mason is 2-0 with a 3.38 ERA.
No. 23 Ohio State is 8-2 on the year and is led by Brian DeLucia, who has 17 hits, two home runs and 14 RBI, while batting .459 in the first 10 games for the Buckeyes.
OUT WEST
UConn's trip to California marks the Huskies' farthest trip west in program history, surpassing the 2004 series with Arizona State in Tempe, Ariz.

- Elliot Glynn went 6.0 innings in his win over CSUN on Friday, March 5. The lefty allowed no earned runs and struck out two batters.
- Greg Nappo threw seven innings and tied his career high with seven strikeouts in his second win of the season.
- Matt Barnes struck out five in his 3.1 innings of work against CSUN on Sunday. - UConn is batting .289 (56-for-194) against right handed pitchers in 2010 as the Huskies are hitting .387 (24-for-62) verses left handed pitchers.
LEADING THE WAY
Redshirt freshman Billy Ferriter is batting .571 (8-for-14) for the Huskies with four runs scored and three RBI in four starts. Mike Nemeth has played in all seven games, batting .462 (12-for-26) with six runs, two doubles and six RBI.
George Springer leads the team with 13 RBI, three doubles and three home runs. The sophomore is currently on a five-game hitting streak.
PENDERS CLIMBS TO 200

Penders, who took over the reins of the UConn baseball team in 2004 for former head coach Andy Baylock, is in his seventh season with the Huskies.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
UConn is 3-1 on the road this season and 2-1 in neutral site games. The Huskies will be tested this week with two games at a neutral site and two at their opponents' home fields.
UConn's strength appeared to be on the road in 2009 as the Huskies tallied a 17-6 overall record in road games during the regular season. The Huskies were 8-2 in their last 10 road games of the 2009 regular season.
IN THE RECORD BOOKS
Mike Olt enters the 2010 season tied at 10th on UConn's all-time home runs list with 21 in two years at Connecticut. Olt also is tied for 17th among UConn's all-time RBI leaders. George Springer has 19 career home runs to rank 16th on UConn's all-time home runs list.
